While working with and getting to know photographer Robert Rausch on the Alabama Chanin “style” feature shoot for the up coming issue of Refueled magazine, we learned that we both shared a great love for vintage signs.

Robert told me, “I do love the old signs and they are disappearing. All of those images are from my childhood memories. They started disappearing so I took as many of them that were left. They use to take the time to design everything back then. Now they post tacky plastic signs with no design sense at all.”

All the signs above are from the Shoals area in Alabama.
