Refueled magazine is hitting the road over the long July 4th weekend to celebrate and embrace the raw heart of America - and is bringing it all to you with video blog posts throughout the trip. Refueled Magazine’s Deep South Summer Road Tour kicks off July 2 in Nashville, TN, rolls through Muscle Shoals, AL, and finishes up in Memphis,TN on July 5th.

The Deep South Summer Road Tour started when Natalie “Alabama” Chanin invited myself and the family out to the July 4th Muscle Shoals community BBQ/Parade Country Bash. Good food, cool folks and great music - plus sleeping in teepees - come on, how do you get more American than that? Lots of surprise guests are bound to show up. This all happens July 3rd - 4th.

First we hit the coolest little jean shop in the south, Imogene + Willie on July 2nd in Nashville. Owners Matt & Carrie Eddmenson will lead us through a video tour of the retro-fitted gas station that houses the best premium denim and lifestyle products in the world. We’ll finish up the day with Matt & Carrie over dinner, where I’m sure the conversations will flow in some interesting directions.

The tour ends in the land of the King on July 5th. A trip through the south would not be complete without a visit to Graceland, guitar-shaped swimming pool motels and a peek into the legendary Sun Studios. Raw Americana at it’s best.

Stay tuned.
